The Only Day That Changes Your Life
Doors close on yesterday. Tomorrow stays wrapped in uncertainty. The only ground we can actually stand on is today
Life is waiting for you each day, and you have to prepare for each challenge along the way toward success. It's not simple, but it can be done. Welcome to my common sense motivation episodes. I'm Chris FantasticPow. My sister shared a quote from the Dalai Lama that hits reality. It said quote, there are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow. So today is the right day to love, believe, do, and mostly live. Now that right there is truth wrapped up in wisdom and delivered straight to the heart. Because if you think about it, yesterday is already a museum. The doors are closed, the lights are off, you can walk through it in your mind, but you can't change a single exhibit. And tomorrow is just a promise we haven't unwrapped yet. It's a dream, a hope, an expectation, and if you lived, you know it's not truly a guarantee because life can change at any time. But today, today is alive, today is breathing. Today is the one battlefield, the one opportunity, the one platform where your life can change because today is the only day you can move on. Here's a short story that says it all. A man spent years talking about climbing a mountain that stood behind his childhood home. He talked about the view, he talked about the challenge, he talked about how one day he would stand at the top and finally feel proud, but he never climbed it. One morning while walking past the same mountain, still dreaming about someday, he saw a young kid already halfway up the trail, tackling the climb he'd postponed for decades. The man shouted, Hey, how did you get that far so fast? The kid looked down, shrugged, and yelled back with simplicity of genius. I just started today. And that's it. That is the whole secret of growth, success, healing, discipline, faith, and achievement all in one line. So start today. It doesn't have to be perfect, or maybe you're not ready, or maybe you don't have all the answers, but start anyway. Here's what I've learned in life. You can't drive forward staring in the rear view mirror. You can't win tomorrow's race by standing still today, and you can't expect miracles from a future you refuse to prepare for in the present. Your life is happening right now, not next year, not when things calm down and not when you feel more motivated. It's happening today, in this moment, in this breath. So love today because the people in your life need that love now, not later. Believe today, because confidence grows from action, not delay. Do today because progress doesn't care about perfect timing, it cares about movement. And mostly live today. Live fully, bravely, intentionally, because when you walk with intention today, tomorrow doesn't intimidate you, it rewards you. This is your day, this is your moment, this is your chance no matter what. Don't let yesterday slow you down, don't let tomorrow distract you. Take hold of today, the only day that can rewrite your story and make it absolutely great. Make it happen. I'm Chris Fantastic Powell. Thank you for listening.
