THE TWO SHOES-TAKE THE WHEEL

Chris "Fantastic" Powell

Taking control of your life means actively making decisions that move you toward your goals rather than passively letting circumstances or others determine your path. The time to stop waiting and start driving your life in the direction you want is now, not someday when everything seems perfect.

Speaker 1:

Get back in the driver's seat. Becoming the best version of you takes more than just dreams. It takes decisions. I want you to check your position in life. Are you in the driver's seat or are you just riding shotgun in your own journey? Because here's the truth you don't get to your destination sitting in the passenger seat. Not in life, not in success and not in anything worth chasing. If you've been riding along letting life, people, opinions, fear or past mistakes take the wheel, then today's the day you need to grab it back.

Speaker 1:

I've done many podcasts talking about building a better you and I'm going to keep doing them because I believe that, no matter where you are right now, you can rewrite your story. But I also know there's a lot of noise out there. Some of it's nonsense, some of it's stuff we convince ourselves is real, but most of that noise is designed to pull you away from your goals into somebody else's lane. Life will always try to distract you, derail you or discourage you. It will put roadblocks in front of you and every single one of us we all go through challenges every single day. But here's a secret I need you to remember Don't believe you can't do something great with your life. And let me say it again Don't believe you can't do something great with your life. And let me say it again Don't believe you can't do something great with your life, because you can. You just have to choose it over and over again. The most dangerous lie we tell ourselves is that we've got time, but the truth is we don't know how many days we really have. What is real is what you do with the days you've got. So ask yourself what did I do today that moved me closer to my goals? Did I make decisions, take action, speak life into myself, or did I just let the day drive me? Every moment is a chance to get back in control. So today I challenge you Stop waiting, stop doubting and start driving your life in the direction, toward your goals, because you've got places to go, people to inspire and a life to live, and it's too important just to leave it up to chance. This is your life. Drive it.

Here's a story the two shoes at the starting line. There was once a young man named Mike who rushingly showed up at the starting line of a local race. He was barely prepared and he was wearing two different shoes. One was a running shoe dirty and worn out but built for the road. The other, a dress shoe stiffed, polished and absolutely wrong for running. The crowd and people began to whisper is this a joke? Who shows up like that? But Mike didn't flinch. What nobody knew was that the running shoe represented his past, everything he had trained for, every mile he had run, every mistake and every lesson. And the dress shoe. It was a symbol of his present. When he arrived, realized he only had the two shoes he had just interviewed for a second job because he was trying to support his mom, pay for school and still chase his dream of being a professional athlete. He had no time to change, no money to buy new shoes, but he showed up anyway.

Speaker 1:

When the gun fired, mike took off. He wasn't the fastest, he wasn't the strongest, but he ran with purpose. He ran like the road owed him something. And halfway through something amazing happened. People stopped laughing, they started cheering Because they saw what many of us miss the determination of his heart.

Speaker 1:

Mike didn't win the race that day, but he finished with everything he had. Later, a coach who had been watching from the sidelines pulled him aside. He said son, I don't care about the shoes, I care about the fact that you ran with one thing most people never bring to the starting line no excuses. The coach asked him what made you come out and run today? Mike said my dream didn't start the day. I had the right gear. I started the day. I stopped waiting for the perfect moment and ran with what I had. The coach offered him training. That training became a scholarship. That scholarship became a future. All because Mike didn't let what he didn't have stop him from using what he did have.

Speaker 1:

Stop waiting for your life to be perfectly aligned. Stop waiting until you have the right shoes, the right timing and everyone's approval, because the people who win in life aren't always the ones who start strong, but the ones who keep moving forward even when the odds look wrong. What are you waiting for? What excuse is sitting beside you in the passenger seat? Is Mr Excuse driving or are you? You don't need the best shoes to run the race. You just need the heart to start Run with what you have and don't look back and drive your life in the direction you want. Make it happen. I'm Chris Fantastic Powell. Thank you for listening.
