Speaker 1:

Life is waiting for you each day and you have to prepare for each challenge along the way towards success. It's not simple, but it can be done. Welcome to my Common Sense Motivation episodes. I'm Chris Fantastic Powell.

Speaker 1:

Distractions don't deserve your attention. Distractions are sneaky. They don't show up loud, they come quiet, looking harmless, but before you know it they've pulled you off track, because that's how they work. But here's the truth. You're bigger than any distraction. You've got something to build, something to become, and distractions, they're just noise. You've got the power to shut them out.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about the rules of distractions. One find out what's pulling on you. If something keeps pulling your focus, don't ignore it. Ask yourself why do I keep getting off track? Am I tired, Bored, Avoiding something Once you know you can fix it.

Speaker 1:

2. Guard your time like it matters, Because it does. Turn off the noise, Clean your space, Set time where no one gets to bother you. Your time is your fuel. Don't let it get wasted. Three lock in your reason. Why are you doing this? Why did you start? Why does it matter? Keep your why in your face every day. That's your fuel and when distractions come, your purpose will keep you steady.

Speaker 1:

Four win the little battles. Every time you say no to distraction, you win. Every time you stay focused. When you want to give up, you win. Keep stacking those wins. That's how champions are made. Five turn the distractions into a reminder. The moment you feel like checking your phone, walking away or quitting, catch yourself. That's not a sign to stop, that's a sign to lock in harder. Make it simple. Big goals get heavy. Don't try to carry it all at once. Break it down. Do one thing at a time, Little steps done daily. Build empires and seven be where your feet are. Focus on what's in front of you right now, not later, not yesterday. Right now, Give it all you've got and do it again tomorrow. Distractions will knock, They'll test your focus, but they don't win. You do. You've got your goals, You've got your purpose, You've got your power. Here's a story the builder and the breeze of distraction.

Speaker 1:

There was once a man named Eddie who wanted to build something great, not just a house, but a legacy. Every day he showed up to the land where he laid his foundation. Brick by brick, he worked, but every time he got momentum, the breeze came, the breeze of distraction. Sometimes it was people pulling him away, Sometimes it was his own thoughts, telling him to rest. Sometimes it was just bored and whispering you can finish later. And some days he listened. He walked away for just a minute, only to lose an hour. He said tomorrow. And he lost a week.

Speaker 1:

Then one day an older man walked by and asked is this your foundation? Been seeing it sit here for months, Thought you gave up. Eddie stood still. That hit him deep. He went home, looked in the mirror and said to himself I didn't come this far to leave it half built. The next morning the breeze came again, but this time he didn't flinch. He kept laying bricks, he kept swinging the hammer, he kept showing up and before long the house stood tall. People call it impressive. But Eddie smiled and said this was built one decision at a time. Mostly on the days I didn't feel like it. Your future is waiting. Don't keep it waiting long. Make it happen.
