THE 8 CHARACTERS CALLED THE OH NO's
From my book "Going One-on-One with Life," I introduce you to the "Oh No's" - eight powerful characters that secretly sabotage your progress and potential. From Mr. Procrastination who convinces you tomorrow is always better than today, to Ms. Fear who paralyzes you with endless worst-case scenarios, these mental saboteurs work tirelessly to keep you stuck, silent, and settling for less than you deserve.
14 years ago, I wrote a book called Going One-on-One with Life. In it I introduced 16 characters, each one representing a force that could either move you forward in life or hold you back. I divided them into two teams the let's Go's and the oh No's. Today, I want to shine light on the oh No's, not to empower them, because, whether we realize it or not, many of us end up choosing this team by default. But make no mistake the oh no's are not your friends. They don't want you to grow, thrive or win. They want you stuck silent and just settling.
Speaker 0:Let me introduce the members of this team. We all know them Mr Procrastination, who whispers later until your dreams fade away. Mr Doubt, who convinces you that you're not enough. Ms Frustration, who shows up when things don't go your way. Mr Failure, who reminds you of what didn't work instead of what could. Ms Fear, who paralyzes you with what ifs. Mr Should have, who keeps you stuck in regret. Mr Lazy, who tells you to rest when it's time to rise. And Mr Excuses, who has a reason for every missed opportunity.
Speaker 0:This sound familiar. We've all heard their voices. Sometimes they shout, sometimes they whisper, but they are always there to derail your potential. They show up uninvited almost daily and if you don't consciously choose the let's goes, these characters will run your life. Here's the truth.
Speaker 0:No one is born a failure, just like no one is born a guaranteed success. Our behaviors, our habits, our mindset they pave the road we walk, and how we respond makes all the difference. The oh-no's will always be there, trying to lead you to use them only. But remember you have something more powerful than any of them. You have choice, and that's your superpower. You cannot build a successful life with the oh-noes as your foundation. They represent hesitation, fear and limitation, not vision, growth and fulfillment. The life you want, the one filled with purpose, passion and progress, starts when you walk away from the oh-noes and run toward the let's-goes. Ask yourself whose team are you recruiting into your life daily? Because time spent with the oh-noes is time stolen from your greatness. Choose better, choose bold, choose you, let's go, make it happen. I'm Chris Fantastic Powell. Thank you for listening.
